Is this CD what it appears? No - it's one of over 100 fakes, concocted in what is the most amazing musical fraud ever perpetrated.
In February 2007, Pristine Audio, in conjunction with Gramophone magazine, unearthed something quite unprecedented in the world of classical music. Here we present our findings:
Pristine Classical has, since its launch in February 2005, concentrated mainly on the transfer and restoration of historic classical recordings. Following the development in 2007 of the XR remastering system, experiments were begun on the application of this technique to other historic recordings that might benefit from the approach. As a result of this research, we have now started work on the full XR remastering and issue of classic recordings from the worlds of Blues and Jazz, with the intention of building this side of our catalogue alongside our Classical output. This page shows our currently available non-classical recordings.
