This
delightful short piece for solo cello with piano accompaniment, transcribed
from Gluck's "Orphée", shows the playing of Feuermann
off to wonderful effect - he appears not to much to play the cello as
to pour the notes out of it and onto the record, each one dripping with
pathos and passion.
This
gorgeous recording was originally issued in a coupling with Brahms' First
Sonata for Cello and Piano (PACM035).
